Create!

Let's Make A Two-page Scrapbook Layout!

Welcome!  I'm so glad you are here!

Today's layout is all about showcasing our creative side of life.  I decided to make this layout to showcase some of the wonderful ladies who join me on a regular basis for Papercrafting With Gayle Workshops and Clubs.  How many times have you, your family members, and/or your friends enjoyed being "creative?"

This layout can be used for so many of life's events!  Have someone snap a picture or two of you papercrafting, gardening, sewing, woodworking, making a puzzle, or whatever you enjoy!  Make a page about it with photos and a bit of journaling -- if you don't, who will be telling your story as the pages on the calendar turn?  😊

I had fun incorporating stamps from the We Are Makers stamp set, and just love Albert Einstein's quote "Creativity is intelligence having fun!"  What a great addition it makes to our layout!  I stamped it on White Daisy Cardstock using Black Archival Ink.  Then I colored it in with my Colored Pencils.  It is then layered on Pewter cardstock followed by Bashful cardstock, and then adhered directly to the Basic Fundamentals paper.

I  used papers from the beautiful new Basic Paper Fundamentals collection, Pewter and Bashful cardstock for my design.  These colors are very subtle and will allow your photos and story to shine.

"Create" is another stamp included in the "We Are Makers" stamp set.

A beautiful gold foil chipboard heart accents our title.  The gold foil hearts shown on this layout are from the "Better Together" Complements.  After adding my photos and journaling, I'll probably add a few more embellishments from this collection.

I really like this scissors, but sadly, although I used my Clear Shimmer Brush on it, my photo doesn't do the glistening effect justice.  You can just barely see it.  Oh my!

It is made with  Bashful and Pewter cardstock and the new "You Are Here" Cricut cartridge.

Just look at all the goodness that comes with You Are Here!  Woo Hoo!  1 – cartridge (700 images: shapes, titles, phrases, and font);
3 – My Acrylix® D-size stamp sets; and 1 – Enchantment cardstock combo pack (two-toned).  I'll certainly be sharing more designs I've made with this collection in future posts.
Make sure you add your journaling to your layout!  You know the drill!  Who, when and where at the minimum.  It is also good to add, at least periodically a bit more answering why and/or how!  You will appreciate this in years to come!  No room on the layout, add Flip Flaps!  😊

All materials used are available from me at papercraftingwithgayle.ctmh.com.

Special "Stronger Together" Stamp Set

Welcome!  I'm writing this as Hurricane Irma continues to swirl and torment all in her path in Florida, fires rage in many of our western regions and the continued clean up is occurring in Texas and Louisiana.  Yet, here at home it's a beautiful blue sky day.  My heartfelt prayers for all!

Due to all of the natural disasters, Close to My Heart has just designed and released a special stamp set "Stronger Together."  This "Stronger Together" stamp set #C1716, is available for $13.95 at papercraftingwithgayle.ctmh.com. The proceeds from the sale of this set will be donated to the Red Cross through Close to My Heart. No commissions are received on the sale of this set. Thank you! My prayers go out to those in harm's way!

Until next time,

With love and prayers,

September is National Stamping Month!

Welcome!  I love the month of September -- not just because it's my birthday month!  It's summer for the first three weeks -- the pool is still available, although a bit cooler, garden flowers and produce remain abundant, the tops of trees are just beginning to show their golden hues, the evenings are nice for walks and outdoor campfires, with the beautiful season of autumn just around the corner.  Yay!  Another reason to love September is it is National Stamping Month!  So look for a touch a stamping in projects all month.  Let's get started!

The stamp set I used for this card is part of  the "Feel So Blessed" stamp set.  It is the September Stamp of the Month and only available through September and for a really good deal.

Using Black Archival Ink, I stamped "There are so many beautiful reasons to be thankful" and then colored it in with colored pencils.

The front leaf and flower patterned paper is from one of my all-time favorite autumn Creative Collections, "Falling for You."  Such a versatile paper suite featuring nature's colors.  To complement the patterned paper, I also used Fern, Goldrush and Tangerine cardstock.

I finished it off with just a touch of bling, using Gold Glitter Gems.

The inside of my card is very simple.  Using Pewter Ink (new!) I stamped my sentiment, "grateful."  My leaf swag is stamped with New England Ivy and colored in with Colored Pencils.  Another Gold Glitter Gem connects the swag and adds a touch of sparkle.

This card is great for a "just because" to send someone you are thinking of, a thank you, or a Thanksgiving note/placecard for family and friends.

Other materials used include a white daisy card base and envelope from the Value Pack, and adhesives, both runner and foam tape.

All materials used are available from me at papercraftingwithgayle.ctmh.com.

Creativeness IS in ALL of Us!

Welcome!  I'm so glad you are here!

Look at all of the wonderful sayings compiled together here!

Life is like a scrapbook-creative and unique; creativity is a way of life; if you can dream it - you can create it; creativity takes courage; happiness; love; never stop creating; inspire, and more.

When I saw this stamp, I just had to get it.  I knew I wanted to have it on display in my craft room not only to enjoy, but as inspiration as well.  I am including it in a layout I am designing as well!  I'll show you soon!

Each one of the little sayings on this stamp can apply to so many of life's occasions, journeys and paths.

Our creative capabilities are used daily -- no matter our position in life.  What we wear, what we eat, what we do, how we think and comprehend varying situations, whether a numbers person or artsy crafty, a spark of creative thinking - genius (?!?) comes into play.

Even the statement I was created to create makes me smile, as I believe God gives us so many talents with the gift of life and our gift back to the Good Lord is using those talents to their fullest.

This is how you can make this.  I stamped the image on White Daisy Cardstock with Black Archival Ink, then layered with the new Color of the Year, Bashful, Pewter, from the updated basic palette, and this gorgeous patterned paper from the Basic Fundamentals collection.
I finished it off with little gold chip board weight hearts from the Better Together Complements, and colored in the stamped hearts and stars with Colored Pencils.  I used both foam tape for dimension and Tombow roll adhesive.  Sweet!

Rose Embossed Card

Hello!  Welcome!

I'm so excited to share this lovely embossed card I made that you, too, can make!

Making and sending cards is a wonderful way to celebrate relationships in this fast paced world.  Let's get started!

Bashful is the new Close to My Heart Color of the Year!  Bashful has a beautiful soft pink hue and will only be available for a limited time.

As you can see in my color swatch, one side of the cardstock features a lighter tone than the other.  This is great for more color flexibility and coordination of other colors in the color palette.

This 5" x 7 " Rose Embossing Folder is not only beautiful, but, oh so simple to use!  I "sandwiched" White Daisy cardstock in the embossing folder, and ran it through my Big Kick.

If you have not used an embossing folder, I would like to share a little tip with you.  When you are using papers with a white core, which all Close to My Heart cardstock colors have, be sure to follow the grain of the paper.  If you emboss against the grain, you are more likely to crack the paper, allowing the white core to show through or even ripping the paper.

Now, of course, if your intention is a distressed, shabby chic look, go right ahead!  However, if you want smoother embossing with little to no white core peeking through, emboss with the grain. So easy!

Not sure about the grain?  Well, no worries!  This is quite easy to do.  Just balance the paper on your fingers and observe how your paper naturally curves. The grain runs perpendicular to the arch.  If needed, mark the direction of the grain on your paper. Then, cut to the size you need, taking note of which way the grain runs.  Place your cut piece of paper inside the embossing folder, with the grain running vertically (toward the fold).  Place the folder between the plates, and run through the embossing/die cut machine.  Woo Hoo!  So easy!

After embossing, I wanted to add even more dimension, so I lightly "swiped" my Bashful Exclusive Ink across the raised rose pattern.  So pretty!

I built the front of my card using a white base, Bashful Cardstock, embossed White Daisy cardstock, a strip of Bashful and Bitty Sparkles.  I used both the Tombow adhesive runner and Foam tape.

For the inside sentiment, I cut 3 bases, Bashful, both sides, and White Daisy using my Artistry Cricut Cartridge.  This cartridge features a wonderful collection of staples for any crafter -- banners, layered shapes, borders, backgrounds, etc., three stamp sets and the Enchantment cardstock combo pack.

I stamped the "Love" sentiment with Black Archival Ink.  This stamp is included in the Artistry Cricut Collection.  You can see the two sides of the Bashful cardstock here.  I really like this new feature!

Two 2-page Layouts With The

Little Dreamer Creative Collection

"Magical You" and "Always Be Yourself"

Hello!  I'm so glad you are here!

Today we'll look at two more 2-page layouts I made using the Little Dreamer papers and coordinating complements.

When I first purchased this collection, I loved the color palette, but thought, unicorns? What am I going to do with unicorns?

Then I started seeing them everywhere!  Too funny!

One of my daughters received a unicorn float for her birthday, they are in many home decor stores, on shirts, pajamas, backpacks,  and my husband and I even spotted them at the Cracker Barrel gift shop after stopping in for a Sunday morning breakfast!  So, yes, unicorns are all around, and now you can create fun layouts with the lucky unicorn!   Let's take a closer look.

Little Dreamer has such a delightful color palette!  It easily allows us to mix and match with blossom, emerald, glacier, lagoon, lemon, tangerine, thistle, and white daisy.

All of these colors are easy on the eye and the patterns add such a delightful touch of whimsy ready to host your precious memories or make a fun greeting card.

Along with many of you, I, too, am on a quest to get my photos off of my computer, phone and out of the box into albums to enjoy! So, my designs are made to make this a faster, simpler and easier path to success for you!

Our Magical You title is one of the pocket cards included in the paper pack. Then, for our Always Be Yourself title, I used the sparkling chipboard die cuts, included in the complements.  Faster. Simpler. Easier.  Woo Hoo!

As you can see, these layouts are shown with just a few of the delightful embellishments included in the Little Dreamer complements.
After my photos and journaling are added, I embellish the layouts just a bit more with some of the remaining complements, sparkles, gems, sequins or ribbons.  Then, for any additional photos I'd like to include,  Flip Flaps and Pocket Plus Pages are also more of the norm than not!

Along with the ability to purchase the Little Dreamer components individually, the Workshop Your Way Little Dreamer Scrapbooking Kit provides you with the paper packet, complements, 4 sheets of cardstock, glitter gems, white and gold ribbon, and when you order from me, you will also be able to download instructions to make the kit as shown in the Seasonal Expressions Idea Book.

Such a fun collection!  Thank you so much for visiting!  You are appreciated!
