Scrapbooking with "SUGAR RUSH"

Creative Collection Workshop

Welcome!  I'm so glad you are here!  I've enjoyed creating scrapbook pages and cards with "Sugar Rush."
I love the color palette featuring blossom, canary, pomegranate, raspberry, sea glass, tangerine, whisper and white daisy.  The patterns are fun and can be used for a wide range of papercrafting.

Using the Sugar Rush papers and embellishments, I made this sweet "Hugs & Kisses" layout. Two additional 2-page layouts have also been made as part of this workshop, which we will discuss in another post.  Soon, my pages will hold precious photos of my family!  Who will you showcase?

Do you love taking photos?  I know I do!  You are able to to showcase additional photos with Flip Flaps, or a Memory Protector Pocket Plus.  I used Design 4, of the Pocket Plus in between my pages.  By aligning the main layout of the page with the Protector Plus pocket sleeve, the page remains balanced.   You can then easily just pop photos in them!

Embellishments from the Sugar Rush Complements and Dots are shown here as used on my pages. Embellishments shown with "Hugs & Kisses" photo are made of chipboard.

All materials shown, and so much more, are available at my website, papercraftingwithgayle.ctmh.com.  When you order a complete Workshop Your Way kit from my website, a complete layout and cutting guide is available for you to download.  Use as-is, or as your own crafty springboard!

Until next time --

Three Sweet Valentines

Welcome!  Making, sending and receiving Valentine cards is truly one of the most delightful aspects of Saint Valentine's Day.  Today we're going to see how the remaining Valentine cards previously introduced were made. Let's get started.

On each of these Valentines, I used White Daisy Card Bases and Envelopes, the "Adore You" January Stamp of the Month, and the "True Love" stamp set.   I also enjoyed using my colored pencils for each, as well.  The "Be mine, Valentine" sentiment was stamped with Raspberry ink.

On the little girl cards, I added a section of the "love" patterned paper from Adventure Fundamentals.  I then changed them up by adding a Blossom heart cut with Thin Cuts and White Shimmer Trim along the top and bottom of the card base.  I cut the shimmer ribbon length wise for the top piece.  A strip of the "love" paper was adhered below the shimmer trim on the top, and above the bottom shimmer trim. Love the touch of bling!

Stamping the heart icon from Happy Heart Sentiments with Pixie ink fills the front of one of our little girl valentines.  I brushed the hearts with the Clear Shimmer Brush to add sparkle.

Our sweet little guy, sporting his striped green shirt, is too cute holding his heart shaped balloons.   I adhered a strip of paper from our Rustic Home Fundamentals along the left side of the card followed by a couple sections of the twine from the Rustic Home Fundamentals Ribbon pack.  I cut a few small hearts from Gold Shimmer Trim for a touch of sparkle.

To add to the fun for the recipient, stamp and color the envelopes also.  I think this little touch adds an extra paper "hug" as well.

Stamp sets used:

Please note, with each purchase of the "True Love" stamp set, a donation of $7 is made benefiting Operation Smile.

I hope you are having fun preparing your valentines and paper hugs!  As always, I invite you to visit my website.  While you are there, you can view all the beautiful artwork shown in both the Annual Idea Book, and the new Seasonal Expressions Idea Book to gain additional inspiration.  Until next time --

Heartfelt Thank You Card

Hello and welcome!  Today we'll continue with the theme of my "Simply Sweet Heart Cards" discussed earlier in the week.   Let's take a look at my heartfelt thank you card.

Using the both sides of the "Heart" Adventure Fundamentals paper, I cut two strips and adhered them along the side of the card base.  Then, using Raspberry ink, I stamped the 'heart with flowers', and the 'thank you' sentiment from the limited edition
"Adore You" stamp set, onto the card base.  On the inside of the card, I stamped the 'you make me happy' sentiment.
I enjoyed coloring the sweet floral swag with colored pencils.  To finish it all off, I added a touch of sparkle with a clear coat from my Shimmer Brush.

Until next time --

Simply Sweet Heart Cards

Creating these sweet cards brought a smile to my face!  It was fun mixing and matching stamp sets and papers.  Stamps from the January Stamp of the Month, Adore You, is the unifying theme for each. What a lovely way to send a "paper hug" to those who warm your heart.  Of course, you'll want to stamp your envelopes also!

Over the next few posts, we'll review how each was made.  Today we'll talk about the "Love" card.

I love the simplicity of the Rustic Home Fundamentals' Swiss Dot paper, and its coordinating twine ribbon from the Rustic Home's Ribbon pack.  I used a tape runner to adhere the paper to the card base.  Then, using Liquid Glass, I attached the twine along the left side of the card. A little goes a long way!

"Pixie" paper from the Whimsy Cardstock Pack graces the cursive "love" and heart, as well as the 2 hearts on the inside of the card.  They were made using Thin Cuts.

Thin Cuts are metal dies used to quickly and easily cut a sentiment or shape for embellishing your cards, scrapbook pages, and more. I truly appreciate that Close To My Heart packages these on magnetic sheets.  Just run them through your die-cutting machine.

My trusty Glue Pen was used to attach the "love" sentiment to the front of the card, as well as the interior hearts.  Foam tape elevates the front heart, to give it just a little "pop".  Of course, a touch of bling is added around the heart with Bitty Sparkles,  which are self adhesive, ready to go bling, as well as using my Clear Shimmer Brush on all things "Pixie"!

The stamped sentiments are from the "Adore You" Stamp of the Month set.  Both sentiments, "Be mine, Valentine" on the front of the card, and the "You will forever be my always" shown on the inside, were both stamped with "pixie" ink

Each month we are provided the opportunity to get an awesome deal on a limited edition D-size stamp set.  They are available for one month only, for $17.95 or for just $5, when you place an order of $50 or more at papercraftingwithgayle.ctmh.com.

If you are not familiar with Close To My Heart, I invite you to visit my website.  While you are there, you can view all the beautiful artwork shown in both the Annual Idea Book, and the new Seasonal Expressions Idea Book to gain additional inspiration.

My cards are shown with one of my faves, a framed magnetic chalkboard, available while supplies last.  This recently discontinued home decor piece is now available at an incredible discount, just click on "clearance" on my website

JANUARY IS NATIONAL

PAPERCRAFTING MONTH!

January is National Papercrafting Month, so join in the celebration by creating this beautiful Welcome Home wreath!  Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a novice, you will love the beauty and the ease of this project.  As you can see in the above photo, I used Blossom Ink and my clear Shimmer Brush on my roses.  Raspberry Ink was sponged onto the edges of some of my succulents to add an additional hint of color, as well as just a touch of shimmer!

Although you could use your fingers for shaping the flora, I used my Quilling Tool for curling the roses, and my Bone Folder to shape the succulents.  You'll want to use a strong adhesive, such as Liquid Glass to assemble your roses and adhere the floral components to the wreath base.

This kit contains seven sheets of die-cut shapes which make assembling the multi-layered flowers a breeze! The chipboard base provides a sturdy foundation to build the wreath. Gold foil stickers are included for you to personalize your wreath. As you can see on my first photo above, my wreath's banner has not been personalized yet.  I'm debating between "Welcome" or "Craft Studio" -- what do you think?

An instructional pamphlet is included in the kit to walk crafters of all skill levels through each step of the assembly step-by-step, truly making this project faster, simpler, easier!  My assembly time was approximately 2 1/2 hours with a few interruptions.

This fun kit is available only during January 2017.  I'll be offering two assembly workshops for locals on January 27 at 7 PM and January 28 at 10 AM.  Workshop orders must be placed by January 15 to assure delivery.

Visit my website to order yours today!  When you're there, you'll see that you can actually earn this for free with an additional qualifying purchase.  Woo Hoo!

Thank you so much for visiting!

I enjoy hearing from you!  Have a wonderful day!
