Paper Piecing Layout

Welcome! I am so glad you are here!  This layout, features my little granddaughter, at 5 months, and a fun, ribbon stitched, paper pieced heart.  💖

Our layout is built on one of the papers from the ever versatile Basic Fundamentals paper pack.  I love how subtle this paper is!  I matted my photos and journaling card with Bashful Cardstock.

To make my heart, I quickly cut five hearts using my Cricut Explore Air 2 and the Artbooking cartridge.  I then clipped 4 of the hearts together, and cut them, reserving one for the base.  You'll want to make sure they stay lined up for ease of assembly, so definitely keep them clipped while cutting!

After they are cut, arrange them on your base layer in the order you'd like. Good, old fashioned paper piecing!  I used regular Tombow adhesive to do this.  I then used my Paper Piercing Tool to poke a hole in the center, and then one along the perimeter at each paper change.

Piercing the paper prior to threading your ribbon makes it so much easier! 😉 The White & Gold Ribbon, is cotton with a metallic gold stripe, was my go-to for this layout.  As you know, a touch a bling to layouts and cards, is always welcome!
This ribbon, accenting the delightful patterns from the Adventure and Whimsy Fundamentals paper collections, adds a delightful  touch of sparkle!

"Love" is stamped with Pixie ink using the What Matters Most stamp set.
I also used cardstock weight stickers, included in the Basic Fundamentals' Better Together Complements.

My journaling box will allow me to write what was important about this wonderful visit my husband and I had with our little granddaughter.

I do hope you are chronicling your life in some manner, because if you don't tell your story, who will?  You are not only doing this for yourself, but more importantly, your loved ones.💖

Let's Make A Fun Layout!

Welcome!  It was such a delight creating this layout of backyard fun!  The idea for this layout originated from a "Basic Shapes Thin Cuts Monkey Challenge."   That's right! A monkey, created with basic shapes needed to be on the layout.  😃

My monkey, on the lower right corner of the layout, is made with papers from the Basic Fundamentals collection, cut with circles, a heart, and an oval.  These shapes, and so many more, are all available as Thin Cuts to easily be used with your Sizzix or Cuttlebug.

For the eyes, I used black dots from Black & White Dots package. For this little guy's facial features, they were simply drawn with the black, archival safe, Marvy Uchida LePen Journaling Pen.  To give our monkey dimension, he was assembled with Foam Dots.  I then used the Bashful Shimmer Brush on his ears.

The three other playful monkeys are cut and stamped using the Punny Pals Thin Cuts and coordinating Stamp Set.  When purchasing this adorable Stamp Set, $7 of every purchase goes directly to Operation Smile.  😘

Our Willow Cardstock was the perfect pick for my vine.  It is cut using the Flower Market Cricut Collection, and our sentiments are from the You Are Here Cricut Collection.  It was so much fun mixing colors from the Adventure and Enchantment palettes for this playful layout.

Although not shown here, m
y coordinating page also features vines and monkeys with multiple photos of my grandchildren playing, along with the ever important journaling.  Please remember to include this!  It need not be a novel, just what it is that is important about this/these photo(s).  Who tells YOUR story? 😉

Head's up-- each weekend during April, you can take advantage of the Fab Faves weekend sales. These online weekend sales last 24-hours and will feature different items and product bundles at 25% off the retail price.  Items are listed each Friday at 2 PM EDT.  Woo Hoo!

I look forward to helping you as you travel along life's journey celebrating relationships with all of your papercrafting and memory keeping needs.  ðŸ’–
